Having spent more than 12 years as an attorney in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Enforcement Division, a substantial part of Jeff’s practice is dedicated to defending clients in investigations and litigation by the SEC and other securities regulators, as well as advising investment advisers, broker-dealers, and other regulated entities and individuals concerning securities regulatory and compliance issues.
Jeff also represents clients in commercial litigation matters, including private securities litigation, partnership disputes, shareholder claims, breach of contract cases, and employment disputes. And drawing on his extensive securities law and commercial litigation background, Jeff represents clients in business and transactional matters, including entity formation, exempt securities offerings, corporate governance, employment issues, and contract preparation and negotiation.
Jeff earned his law degree from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where he was member of the Southern California Law Review, and his undergraduate degree in finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is licensed to practice law in California and Colorado.
Jeff has published articles in The Colorado Lawyer and other legal publications. He also speaks on securities law topics and has served as a faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and an arbitrator for the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Among his other professional affiliations, Jeff is a member of the Colorado and Denver Bar Associations. He also volunteers his time as a Board Member of True Impact Ministries and with the Christian Legal Society of Metro Denver Legal Aid Clinic.
